Private – 3rd Regt, Albany Co, New York Militia
Received an annual pension of 32.22.
He was born in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess, New York, and died in Guilderland, Albany, New York
The RELYEAs were in America bef. 1690 in Marlborough, Ulster Co., New York. His other family lines were also Netherlands Dutch, but they had settled in New Amsterdam, New York before 1632, Part of the first original Dutch migration.
Reach out and touch your Elders,
talk to them and take many notes, even if what they say doesn’t make sense to you. Where did they, their parent, grandparents live, work, etc. Ask about customs, foods, trades, don’t forget to include the hearsay (it might come in handy). Write everything they say down, it may come into play later.
